Hill of the popa
The best panoramic view of Cartagena is from the Sanctuary of Our Lady of La Candelaria, located on the top of La Popa Hill, which owes its name to the similarity that sailors found in it to the back of a boat. Plaza de las Bóvedas
It is a structure located between the bastions of Santa Catalina and Santa Clara, consisting of 47 arches and 23 vaults. It was built to be resistant to explosive attacks, in order to house the Spanish royal troops, store ammunition and defend the wall.
